Does your insurance cover COVID-19?
Do you know what you're covered for?
Most of our clients will have a protection plan in place with one of New Zealand's major life, living and/or health insurance providers. While we of course hope that the virus doesn't come anywhere near you, the good news is that if it did, in general, most customers will be covered against the risks of COVID-19.
If you want to find out about your individual circumstances, check your policy wording or contact your adviser. It pays to know what you're covered for.
What if you don't already have cover?
We've had a large number of enquiries since the outbreak of the virus from new clients wanting to arrange life insurance.
While this is a good thing (in general Kiwis are under-insured and if this means they put good cover in place then that's a positive) - we would warn against panic-buying insurance products.
Instead, talk to an expert Orange Network adviser and we’ll help you put together an insurance plan to make sure you have the cover you need to protect what's important to you.
Unlike some types of insurance, most life, living and health insurance policies would still cover COVID-19, even for people who signed up for their insurance after the outbreak.
If you have friends or family thinking about insurance right now, send them our way.
“Our job is to help you find the cover that’s right for you– not oversell insurance like it’s toilet paper.”
If you have any questions around insurance cover, or would like an obligation-free review, get in touch and let’s arrange a phone or video chat.
